Charles Louis Currie, also known as "Bo", "BoBo", and, don't forget "Jim Dandy", was born in Haywood County, Tennessee on December 21, 1928. He was the second child born into a loving family of 13 children to, the late, John D. and Odessa Bond Currie.
He was baptized at an early age, at New Hope Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tn.
"Bo" was educated in the Haywood County School System. He loved being around family; and at any event, you could always find him at one of many card tables. He also had a great love for hunting and fishing.
Later in life, "Bo" was united into holy matrimony to Betty Howard. In addition to two daughters, their union was blessed with three bonus daughters.
On November 4, 2023, in Decatur, IL, having completed his life journey, "Bo" quietly transitioned from labor to reward and entered into his heavenly home. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
"Bo" was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Odessa Bond Currie, his wife, Betty Howard Currie, 6 sisters, Jerline Moore, Eunice Cogshell, Callie Mazique, Tora Etta Parker, Johnnie Mae Currie, and Ann Currie; 3 brothers, Odee Currie, Howard Currie, and Otis Currie; and one bonus daughter, Seneca Knox.
Cherished memories will be shared by his daughters, Tasha (Chill) Shavers, LosAngeles, CA, Ellington Currie, Decatur, IL, Sarah Currie-Jackson, Gary, IN, Evangelist Teresia Currie, Chicago, IL; one son, Curtis (Marcia) Currie, Chicago, IL; two bonus daughters, Flamonda Bonds and Melissa Halliburton, one sister, Betty Napoleon, two brothers, John Arthur (Rose) Currie, and, Frank Currie; three grandchildren, who were always by his side, Celess Shavers, Wesley Shavers, and Sidni (Dalton) Currie-McCormick, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and commitment that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
