Mamie Beatrice Andrews - Tyus was born July 22, 1944, in Lauderdale County, TN to the late Ruthie Mae Griffin & John Davis Tyus. She was the oldest child. As a young lady Mamie accepted Christ as her personal savior and lord and confirmed through baptism at Elam Baptist Missionary Church as a member until her death
She received her education from the Lauderdale County School District in 1964. Back into the day she was a basketball player on the team. Later worked at Tupperware for many of years, then other jobs when Tupperware closed.
Although Mamie had some challenges, she lived a full life, not allowing her disability to put her in bondage. In her spare time, she loved baking and cooking, family time, traveling, trading recipes also loved baking for her church family, yard work. Mamie was called by several of names:
Mom B, Granny B, B, Little B and BB.
Without warning or final farewell our dearest Mamie departed this life on the 8th day of September 2023 at her resident in Brighton, TN.
She leaves to cherish her memories; Her children Garie (Evenly) of Ripley, TN, Romel (Pearl) Atoka, TN Lawrence (Brenda) Ripley, TN, Kimble Andrews of Ripley, TN. Siblings, Thelma (Willie) Austin Indianapolis, IN: Wardell (Yvonne) Manns, Detroit, MI, Janice Tyus & Debra Moore both of Memphis, TN: Joyce Geans Donald Moore, Albert Moore all of Tiptonville, TN Bobby R. Tyus & Patricia William both of Palm City, FL, Patricia Manns sister-in-law, Atlanta GA. Three siblings proceeded in death: Lee Roy Tyus, Willie Louis Manns, and Larry Manns. One aunt she loved dearly Minnie Griffin of Ripley, TN Mamie has 13 Grand children which one precede in death Nikita Wells of Ripley, TN, Great-grandchildren seven and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and other friends.
